Tomoda Collection

Your Tomoda Collection is the archaeology of where you've been and what you've done. Curios on one side — story-bearing artwork earned by completing challenges. Stamps on the other — curated artwork for places you've really visited. Together they're the answer to "what have you done?" in a form you can actually hold.

(Formerly called the Archive in earlier drafts. We renamed it because "archive" felt static — this surface is alive; it grows with you.)

The story

We needed somewhere for the things you earn to go. Not a feed (too ephemeral), not a profile-stats page (too quantitative), not a trophy case (too gamey). Something that felt closer to a curated personal museum — small, considered, full of objects with stories.

The Collection is structured but not crowded. Two shelves:

  1. Curios — the activity-anchored side. Voxel artwork that landed when a challenge completed. Each curio has a name and a 1-3 sentence story, and the Collection shows you which challenge earned it and when. Some are obvious to earn; some are quietly surprising; some are secret — fully hidden until you earn them.

  2. Stamps — the place-anchored side. Curated artwork for cities, regions, countries. The visit IS the proof — actually being there in our location system is what lights them up.

Both sides share a vocabulary: - Earned items get full art + story + "earned at" timestamp - Locked items show silhouettes + hints (for soft/hard hidden) or nothing at all (for secret) — discoverability is intentional - The Collection respects your visibility settings; friends see only what you've shared, strangers see nothing

What it isn't

  • Not a feed. No timeline of activities. The Collection is what stuck — the durable record of completion, not the stream of events.
  • Not a leaderboard or score. There's no comparison surface. You see your collection; friends see (some of) theirs; we don't roll them into rankings.
  • Not transactional. You don't trade curios, you don't sell them, you don't combine them for upgrades. They're memory artifacts, not currency.

How the shelves grow

Curios arrive when challenges complete. Stamps arrive when you genuinely visit. The Collection re-renders to surface what's new without losing what's old. Tap into a curio to see its full story; tap into a stamp to see the place. Tap "How I earned this" to see the trail: which challenge fired, which actions counted, when.

The most-loved version of Tomoda is one where opening the Collection feels like opening a small museum of yourself — every shelf earned, nothing arbitrary, every artifact connected to a specific real-world thing you did.
